In the sunbaked lanes of Rajasthan, a community of artisans once stitched armor for kings and saddles for warriors. They were the Jeengar—the makers. Their name echoes their craft: "Jeen" (horse saddle) + "Gar" (maker).
But time turned pages. Factories replaced hand tools, and fast fashion forgot their artistry. Today, fewer than 200 Jeengar artisans remain, their UNESCO-recognized craft hanging by a thread.
